THE uniquely popular Foster and Allen bring their trademark brand of Irish easy listening to Clacton on Sunday night.

Astonishingly, it is just 40 years since Mick Foster and Tony Allen teamed up together.

During that time the duo have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, making their Top of the Pops debut alongside Dexy’s Midnight Runners in 1982 to promote top 20 hit A Bunch of Thyme.

They are marking the anniversary by hitting the road with their newlyreleased Celebration CD.

The show will feature tracks from their latest album, as well as classic hits such as Maggie, After All These Years, I Will Love You All My Life and Old Flames.

Mick and Tony teamed up as a duo in 1975.

A Bunch of Thyme was number one in Ireland in 1978, but did not get its UK release for another four years.

The pair had to fly back from touring in the US to make their Top of the Pops debut, which led to their first concert tour of the UK in 1983.

Foster and Allen are at the West Cliff Theatre, in Tower Road, Clacton, on November 15 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £23 on 01255 433344.
