THE first phase of a £10million redevelopment of Clacton Factory Outlet will start later this month.

Owners Kames Capital said the work would see the demolition of the middle section of the outlet, as well as the construction of a 16,500ft Home Bargains store.

The huge overhaul also includes new car parking with access off the roundabout and the filling in of the existing underpasses.

The shopping centre will stay open while work is carried out.

Phase one of the work will cost about £3.5million, while the next phase will see the construction of a new six-screen cinema.
