COMEDIAN Michael McIntyre has sent a message of congratulations to a woman who went into labour after laughing so hard at his show.

Cara Brown, 28, and her partner, Stephen Gillmore, welcomed their daughter into the world on Saturday after Cara’s water’s broke six weeks early at the star’s Happy and Glorious show.

After hearing the story Michael’s manager paid the family a visit to congratulate them on the new arrival.

He took along a bunch of flowers, a signed programme from the night and a card from Michael.

It said: “Dear Stephen and Cara. Glad to be of help. Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl.”

Cara, of Neasden Avenue, Clacton, said: “I’m chuffed.

“When she’s bigger I can show her she’s got a special card from Michael McIntyre.

“When the DVD comes out I’m going to get a copy to show her.”

The little girl, who has now been named Demmie Louise Gillmore, weighed 5lb 1oz.

Cara only found out Michael's agent was coming to visit her shortly before he arrived at Colchester General Hospital.

She said: “It was really lovely. He was so nice.

“He said Michael was impressed and quite shocked.”

Cara’s waters broke as she was leaving the show, which was at the O2 in London.

Despite being advised to go to a London hospital, she was desperate to make it back to Colchester so Stephen could be there.

After a two hour drive they arrived at the hospital, and 36 hours later Demmie was born.

She is still in Colchester General Hospital’s special baby unit, and will hopefully be able to go home next week.

Cara said: “I just want to thank all the staff, they have all been fantastic.”
