A 75-YEAR-OLD thrillseeker will be strapped onto the wings of a plane for the flying experience of a lifetime.

Plucky pensioner Jean Goggin, of Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Clacton, will raise money for charity by becoming a wingwalker for a day.

She will be strapped in a standing position on top of the wings of an aircraft as it rockets through air at up to 130mph.

The plane will dip and climb – with Jean perched on top the whole time.

Daredevil Jean first saw the Wingwalkers team in action at Clacton Airshow, where the stunt crews dazzle crowds by performing acrobatics on top of the planes.

Now she has the chance to emulate them after son Gary gave her the surprise Christmas present of a lifetime.

Jean said: “I’ve seen them at the airshow and it just looks incredible.

“They put on an amazing performance and since I first saw them it is something I have wanted to try myself.

“When my son gave it to me as a Christmas present, I was so excited. I think it’s going to be an amazing experience and a real thrill.

“I’ve got people telling me I’m mad, but I’m not nervous about it at all, just excited.”

Jean had to have a health check before being allowed to carry out the stunt, which is raising money for charity.

More than £500 has already been pledged by friends and family for Help for Heroes.

Jean added: “You see soldiers who are so young come home with terrible injuries.

“They have their whole lives to live still, but they are going to need a lot of help, and this is something I can do to help.”

She takes to the sky in Upminster on July 19.
