THE family of a youngster who suffers from a muscle-wasting condition have teamed up with a charity to help find a cure.
Three-year-old Stanley Newman, of Skelmersdale Road, Clacton, has a severe form of congenital muscular dystrophy, which is slowly weakening him.
His family have now linked up with charity Muscular Dystrophy UK in an effort to find a cure.
Cash from fundraisers and donations will go into a special “family fund”
with the charity, which will be put towards research into a cure for Stanley’s condition.
Dad Rob said: “We took the decision because recently we gained more knowledge about Stanley’s particular type of the disease, which will cut short his time with us at a young age.
“Time is a luxury Stanley doesn’t have. This fund will enable us to raise funds with the support of Muscular Dystrophy UK and put the money towards research which could potentially benefit Stanley.”
Their first fundraiser is an open day and car wash at Clacton fire station on June 7 from 10am to 4pm.
