A MUSIC producer has hit all the right notes in his effort to raise money for a charity that helped saved his life.

Jay Law, of Clacton, has put together new track, The Light of Hope, with musicians The OrchestatorZ, Christian Jude and Avalanch to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Mr Law was inspired to raise money for the hospital after staff there fitted his pacemaker when he was aged just 15, following his diagnosis with the heart condition, obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopothy.

Just six hours after it was released, the track had smashed through the £300 target that had been set and Mr Law is now hoping to double the amount.

He said: “I have had the condition since I was five and it is pretty serious.

“The wall of my heart muscle is really thin so there is a danger it could collapse, so I have to take medication. I really wanted to give something back because of the way they looked after me.

“When the track went online, I raised the £300 within six hours, which was amazing. Now we have more than £400 and I am hoping to double it.”

Mr Law has been producing music for eight years and was inspired to try to pay back the charity that helped him so much.

He said: “Putting together the song was something I always wanted to do, but it was just a case of making sure the time was right before it could go out.

“I am so happy and overwhelmed by all the support we have had. To raise so much money so quickly was great.”
