A CAMPAIGNER from Clacton has teamed up with Colchester United to promote organ donation.

The U’s have been displaying posters and leaflets at their Weston Homes Community Stadium with information on how to join the organ donor register.

The initiative has been arranged by Dale Sencier, of Clacton, following the death of Scott Fowler.

Mr Fowler, 41, of Colchester, died of a heart attack after suffering from the same condition that killed his father, former Colchester United star John Fowler, at the age of 42.

“We should not take our health for granted. Like John and Scott, at any time any of us could have a heart defect. An organ donation could treat this,” said Mr Sencier.

“In our time of need, we would all like a organ to be available to us to save our life, but the majority of us do not join the organ donor register. If we all joined the organ donor register, then none would go without.”
