COMMUTERS have called for more rush-hour connection trains to Frinton and more carriages for off-peak services.
Residents quizzed an Abellio Greater Anglia representative at Frinton Residents’ Association’s annual meeting on Saturday.
They called for more services from Thorpe station to Frinton, Kirby Cross and Walton during the evening rush-hour.
Julia Gaston said: “Frinton residents and commuters are questioning the timetable and connections between Thorpe, Frinton, Kirby and Walton.
“It would be helpful if we had more trains also going through to Frinton, Kirby, Walton and Clacton, rather than just hourly services.”
Petrina Murphy, area station manager, said: “During peak weekday times, there are more services.
“But because we have one line, we can’t have more than one train on it at a time.”
Ms Murphy said any changes to the number of services would not be reviewed until the end of the year.
Residents added the time people had to wait at the railway gates would need to be reduced if more trains were put on.
Ms Murphy said: “Delays at gates on lines are all being looked at.
“They are down longer now that they are automated for safety.”
