A DEFUNCT village pub has reopened under new management.
The beer taps at the Red Lion, in The Street, Kirby le Soken, had been collecting dust for more than a year before it reopened its doors again this month.
It has undergone a major refit and the new owners are still carrying out a large landscaping project on the garden.
Kirby councillor Robert Bucke said: “It was shut for quite a long time and that can often signal the end of a village pub.
“I’m delighted to see it reopen under the leadership of people we know who have a connection to the pub.”
Mr Bucke added: “It has been refurbished to a high standard and it is fantastic to have another venue to bring people into Kirby, as well as giving our residents a choice within the village.”
