UNEMPLOYMENT has risen in the Tendring district for the third month running.
Latest official figures showed there were 2,240 people – almost three per cent – claiming out-of-work benefits in the district last month.
The January statistics showed 75 more people were jobless compared with December. But compared with this time last year, there are 685 more people in work.
The number of 18 to 24-year-olds out of work in the district remained 595 – six per cent. Nationally, the number of jobseekers rose from 1.9 per cent to two per cent.
