VILLAGERS have accused developers of being opportunist after new plans were revealed for 60 homes in Alresford.
The site is north of Cockaynes Lane – opposite another proposed development.
The new application points out Tendring Council’s Local Plan – the district’s development blueprint – is out of date.
Parish council chairman Ernie Osborne said: “They are all taking advantage because there is no local plan for Tendring.
“They are jumping on the bandwagon.”
But Edward Gittins, agent for the application, defended the plans.
“There is a presumption in favour of sustainable development when a local authority does not have an up to date local plan, as in Tendring,” he said.
