THE Winter Warmers project has been relaunched in Clacton.
The scheme was officially opened in Pier Avenue on Monday and will continue until the end of January. It is operating from the former card shop next to McDonald’s.
Organisers are looking for donations of warm clothing, shoes, bedding and toys to be handed out to people who may be struggling through the winter months.
Lynda McWilliams, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for wellbeing, said: “It is sad that there are vulnerable people in this situation, but we want to do all that we can to make their lives a little easier, especially at this time of year.
"We are very grateful to all those who have made donations and we would ask people to keep them coming to help stock the shop.”
The pop-up shop is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm and will be manned by volunteers. It will be closed between December 22 and January 5. The project helped about 400 people last year.
