LACE up your blue suede shoes for an evening of hip shaking as the King comes to town.

A Vision of Elvis – one of the top tributes to the legend currently touring – arrives at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Rob Kingsley stars as Elvis Presley in the award-winning production, which celebrates tracks from his breakthrough years at Sun Studio through the 1968 comeback special, right up to the final concert years.

Alongside Rob are top backing band the Cadillacs and supporting vocalist the Sensations, and he is hoping the audience will be rocking in the aisles.

Rob has just finished staying in Heartbreak Hotels across Europe as part of a smash-hit tour, with Elvis fans on the continent thrilled by his uplifting and authentic performance.

Former Elvis photographer and stage manager, Ed Bonja, has become a huge fan of the act. He said: “On stage, Rob Kingsley looks extraordinarily like Elvis.

“He sings like Elvis but, most importantly, he seems to capture the very soul of Elvis – his charisma, his gestures. He even walks like Elvis.

“Rob’s contact with the audience is immediate. As soon as the concert begins, surrounded by his musicians and backing vocalists, he takes the spectators on an emotional rollercoaster through time.”

Tickets for the show cost £17.50 (£16 concessions) and are available on 01255 686633 or at essex-live.co.uk
