TWO men were stabbed and had boiling water thrown at them during an attack at a house, a court heard.

During the attack, one of the men, George Kennedy, was stabbed three times near his heart and once in the stomach.

His friend was also injured in the attack.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard today Allen Smith, 41, was with Darren Palmer, 44, at his home in Hadleigh Road, in Clacton, when the incident took place on Thursday.

It is said, during the incident, Palmer initially threw boiling water over Mr Kennedy, 47, and his friend, 37, before he and Smith attacked them with knives.

Tamzin Sharpe, prosecuting, said Mr Kennedy’s friend was eventually able to pull him free and the pair fled the scene and found Police Community Support Officers nearby.

The duo were taken to Clacton Hospital for treatment, but Mr Kennedy was transferred to Colchester General Hospital for more expert treatment.

His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Smith and Palmer are charged with attempted murder.

Neither entered a plea when they appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The pair, both of Hadleigh Road, in Clacton, were denied bail.

They were remanded in custody, to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court in January.
