A FRINTON firm has recorded its best-ever year for holiday lets and beach hut rentals as holidaymakers flocked to the town.

Boydens estate agents, in Connaught Avenue, say it has been a bumper year for visitors.

The firm said holidaymakers from across the country and abroad descended upon the tranquil town for the summer.

Spokesman Joy Sanders said: “There is no doubt that Frinton has grown in popularity, with increasing numbers of repeat visitors and people discovering the town for the first time.

“This year has been our best year to date.

“Though this might have been partly affected by the generally excellent weather, many of the bookings were made before it became apparent we were in for such a good summer.

“The early bookings for 2015 show every sign of another great year for Frinton.

“Some properties are available throughout the year and some can be booked for just two or three nights.”

The firm, which rents holiday homes ranging from one bedroom apartments to five bedroom houses, is now searching for more properties to cater for demand.

Frinton mayor Iris Johnson added: “In both Frinton and Walton, it was a bumper summer.

“The roads were inundated with traffic and it was a bit of a pain for residents who can’t get out of town – and it was so busy it was difficult for people to park as the beaches were so full.

“But we absolutely welcome it – we are a tourist area.

“Hopefully some of these people will also come back at other times of the year.”
