HI-DE-HI! star Jeffrey Holland fulfils a lifetime ambition in his one-man show about legendary comedian Stan Laurel.
Jeffrey, who played Spike in the Beeb comedy classic, co-wrote the award-winning And This Is My Friend Mr Laurel with Gail Louw.
Set in Oliver Hardy’s bedroom, the action takes place as Stan pays a visit to his sick and dying friend.
He recounts their past successes as one of the greatest cinematic duos of the big screen, providing an in-depth, humorous and touching account of the comedian’s life.
The show, which was two years in the making, had its debut last year – to great acclaim.
Jeffrey always vowed that one day he would make his dream of playing Stan a reality.
His fascination with the comedy duo began as a small boy at the Saturday morning cinema picture show.
And This Is My Friend Mr Laurel is at Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre on Sunday, at 3pm. Tickets are £15 (£14 for the over-60s) and available by calling 01255 474000.
