MOVES to turn a brickedup alleyway back into a public path could take up to 15 months.
The alley used to run between Frinton’s Connaught Avenue and Old Way. But two years ago, it was bricked up by the owner of the neighbouring shop – now craft store Artishack – and incorporated into the store.
Frinton and Walton Town Council recently won a long battle to have the alley added to the definitive map and reopened as a public right of way.
An enforcement notice is set to be issued by Tendring Council, but the process of returning the alley to a right of way is likely to take 12-15 months.
