STUDENTS at schools across Clacton are celebrating their A level results.

Clacton County High School said its A Level pass rate was over 99 per cent - with 80 per cent of all grade at C or higher.

At BTEC there was a 100 per cent pass rate with 85 per cent of grades at distinction level or above.

Principal Jeff Brindle said: “Once again the results in the Sixth Form have surpassed all expectations.

“My congratulations go out to all of the students and their families and I wish them every success in the next stage in their chosen path.”

Mr Brindle added that the youngsters excelled at English language, literature, mathematics and the sciences, as well as business studies, drama and dance.

Clacton Coastal Academy said 47 per cent of its students gained A* to C grades, including BTEC equivalents.

Principal Tracey Hemming said: “The drive for improvement and academic success at the academy is continuous and is reflected in these results.

“The sixth form students have benefited greatly from an outstanding new Sixth Form Centre on the Pathfields Road site and by the move to one site.

“There are many well deserved successes to celebrate today and many students well prepared for the next part of their educational journey.”
