WALTON’s annual carnival showcase takes place this weekend with a host of crowd-pleasing events scheduled.
The procession begins at 2pm on Saturday leaving from the Naze before winding through town towards the pier.
The Texas Rangers perform Wild West shows on Bathhouse Meadow at 1pm and 5.30pm with cannon fire starting the carnival. There are more performances on Sunday at 1.30pm and 4pm.
There is family entertainment on Millennium Square from 12noon until 9.30pm on Saturday followed by a firework display at Albion Breakwater.
And a pram race in the town centre kicks off at 5pm starting at the Naze Marine Holiday Park and finishing at the Bath House pub, visiting six alehouses along with the way with half a pint being sunk at each.
There is also a fun fair at Bathhouse Meadow from Friday for ten days.
