BUDDING Beckhams celebrated the opening of new changing rooms in Little Clacton.

More than 70 people turned out for the official opening, by Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex Bonnie Hill at the village hall.

More than £50,000 has been spent on the extension, which includes changing rooms for the neighbouring football field.

The ground is home to Little Clacton and Weeley Youth Football Team.

Village hall committee chairman Peter Balbirnie said: “It was great to see the young footballers in action and with their new facilities it is hoped the team will go from strength to strength.”

The celebrations included a five-a-side competition for girls’ football teams.
