TWO youngsters from Clacton have had their creative designs turned into handmade plates as part of a special competition.

Polly Stacey, aged six, and Joshua Mallett, eight, won a contest at the Denby store at Clacton Factory Outlet.

Their drawings have now been turned into plate designs by the leading dinnerware firm.

Each was painstakingly reproduced by a Denby artist before being individually hand-glazed and fired.

The competition gave kids a chance to let their creative juices flow and design a colourful summer-themed plate.

Centre boss Allan Hassell said: “The competition was a lot of fun for everyone involved and what a marvellous prize to be able to give away.

“We had so many wonderful creations it was hard to pick the two winners.

“I am sure the handcrafted plates that they have designed will be something they will cherish for a long time.”
