TITAN the robot is set to wow the crowds at Clacton Air Show.

While aircraft such as the Red Arrows and the Vulcan bomber dazzle in the skies above Clacton, Titan will be entertaining crowds on the ground at West Greensward.

The air show, which is expected to pull in around 140,000 visitors, takes place on August 21 and 22.

Tendring Council leisure boss Mark Platt said Titan’s unique blend of comedy, street theatre and music created a show unrivalled in the world and has led to him appearing on programmes such as Big Brother, Daybreak and the Gadget Show - as well as major events including the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

The robot also appeared at the air show in 2010 “He was a huge draw with fans of all ages,” said Mr Platt.

“There will be plenty of entertainment and trade stands along the West Greensward to compliment the action taking place above and we are delighted to have Titan signed up – it will certainly add something different to the show on both days.”

The line-up of aircraft this year also includes the Typhoon Eurofighter, the Royal Canadian Lancaster and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
