A CYCLING burglar sped off from a computer repair shop after being disturbed during an attempted break-in.
The would-be thief tried to smash his way into PC’s and Pieces, in The Grove, in Clacton.
Investigating officer, PC Jamie Welsh, said the man did not get away with any goods from the shop.
He said: “He smashed the front window and door, but failed to get in despite several attempts.
“The man was then forced to cycle off down Rosemary Road after he was disturbed.
"We have been examining several hours of CCTV from the area during these past few days to see if he has been captured on camera.
“We’re hoping to speak with anyone who may recognise the man from the description provided or who saw him cycling away from the scene of the crime.”
The thief is described as white, aged in his 20s, has dark, cropped hair and was wearing a red T-shirt and grey bottoms.
The incident happened at 2.20am on July 27.
Anyone with information about the attempted burglary is urged to contact the neighbourhood crime team at Clacton police station on 101.
