YOUNGSTERS in Brightlingsea will be kept busy during the summer holidays after two new outdoor play facilities opened.
A skate ramp and piece of play equipment, both in Western Promenade, have both been officially opened by town mayor Vivien Chapman.
Mrs Chapman was joined by representatives from Park Leisure, which made the beach hut themed piece, and Clacton Lions, which offered sponsorship.
The equipment features winning entries from a picture competition Mrs Chapman ran at Brightlingsea Junior School.
Katie Newland, one of five winners, helped the mayor cut the ribbon.
The group also opened a new skate board ramp, which had been partly funded with sponsorship from Brightlingsea Rotary Club.
