INDEPENDENT shopkeepers put their wares on show at a special mini food festival to promote the town centre.
The Taste of Frinton event was held in Connaught Avenue on Saturday.
Butcher Jon Wright said the event was held to thank shoppers in the popular shopping street, which has a large number of independent traders.
He said: “We want to give a little bit back to the people of Frinton. People always talk about Connaught Avenue and what we do here – we have a lot of independent shops.
“We were out in the street getting people to try what we have on offer.
“I spoke to the fish shop and greengrocers and they both had great days.
“We had a barbecue out there all day, with Mark Dean flat out cooking – we must have given away more than 400 burgers.
“It was a really good day and many people came in to buy what they had tried – it was win-win for everyone.”
Among shops taking part in the event were Young’s fisheries, Howard’s greengrocers, Wright’s delicatessen, Wright’s butchers and Candy Cakes.
