CLACTON’S inshore lifeboat was launched after reports of a disabled man struggling in the sea near Point Clear.

Following the alert the coastguard rescue team was also sent to help at about 12.45pm on Sunday.

But the rescue teams were called off before they reached the scene after the man was reported to have reached the shore safely.
