A WOMAN needed hospital treatment after being wrestled to the ground and bitten on the head by an attacker in Clacton.
The attacker was a woman driving a small purple or blue car, thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa.
She drove up alongside the 22 year old victim as she was walking along Wellesley Road with a friend, before jumping out the car to launch the assault.
The victim was pulled to the ground by her hair and suffered a bite wound to the back of her head, as well as several cuts and bruises.
It happened in broad daylight, at about 6.20pm on Thursday.
Investigating officer Det Con Dave Brooks said: “We believe some members of the public may have witnessed this incident as they offered to help the victim afterwards.
“I would ask anyone who saw what happened to get in touch with me.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
