A NEW discount superstore is to open in Clacton, creating 70 jobs.
B&M has confirmed it is moving on to the old Homebase site on Waterglade Retail Park.
The new 36,000sq ft home store is due to open next month and includes a 10,000sq ft garden centre.
The company has 380 stores in the UK and employs more than 17,000 people.
DIY firm Homebase announced it was axing its Waterglade store in May, with the loss of up to 30 jobs.
It closed in June after almost 20 years in the town.
It was understood B&M had taken over the lease.
Staff at the new B&M store have chosen Clacton RNLI to carry out the official opening.
The charity will also receive £250 of store vouchers.
Clacton carnival queen, Chyanne Hooks, will cut the ribbon to officially open the store on August 2 at 9am.
