MOTORISTS face weeks of traffic chaos after a sewer collapsed in one of Clacton's busiest roads.
Anglian Water was due to start roadworks in St John’s Road, near the junction with North Road, early on Wednesday morning.
A spokesman said it could take several weeks, depending on how deep the damaged sewer was.
“Hopefully, we will know by the end of the week,” he said.
Manually-operated lights will be used to reduce traffic to a single lane.
