THOUSANDS of pounds in grant cash has been handed to a family support group to fund trips for young mums and children in Jaywick.
Extra – Support for Families has been given the £3,000 grant through the Essex Millennium Fund.
The cash has been set aside to fully fund trips for families who attend the Jaywick Young Parents Group, run by Extra.
Gillian Wicks, from Extra, said: “This is a big boost for the group and has given the children opportunities to visit and experience things they may not have been able to otherwise.”
The Jaywick group meets at the Brooklands Gardens community centre every Tuesday, from 10.30am to 12noon, and is open to join for new families.
Parents and children from the group have already enjoyed a trip to Jimmy’s Farm funded by the grant cash. They are now gearing up for a visit to Maldon Splash Park next month.
