Lifeboat crew saves struggling yacht - and IDs mystery floating object
COASTGUARDS were called to help a struggling yacht which had broken down after suffering a gas leak.
The yacht was struggling to make headway in difficult conditions near Clacton Pier without engine power.
Walton’s lifeboat was launched and towed the yacht, which had three people onboard, back to Titchmarsh Marina.
The rescue took place at about 5.50pm on Wednesday.
Walton’s Coastguard Rescue team was also called out on Wednesday morning to investigate an object spotted in the water near Dovercourt. It was found to be a discarded tent.
