CLACTON students put maths into action at an education workshop.

Youngsters from Clacton Coastal Academy were invited to take part in a series of challenges at the annual Sunday Times Festival of Education in Berkshire.

The students put theirs maths skills to the test in practical engineering tasks.

They had the chance to use state-of-the-art surveying equipment and use 3D modelling software.

Challenges were set by Class Of Your Own, an organisation which runs a design engineer curriculum currently studied by students at the Clacton school.

It was set up to encourage youngsters to consider a career in the construction industry.
