NEW rules could be created to keep a tighter control on allotment users in Frinton and Walton.
Town councillors say some of the structures popping up on allotment plots in the area are becoming too big, with plans for greenhouses and chicken coops getting bigger with each request.
They also say glass panels and building materials are being left on the sites making them look untidy.
Plans are now underway to bring new terms of use into force for allotment users.
They will include restricting the size of any structure built, as well as a possible ban on keeping any animals on the sites.
The mooted size restriction for greenhouses and sheds was eight metres by eight metres.
The council agreed to start working on a set of new rules and guidelines for allotment users.
