A VILLAGE post office will remain closed after a potential operator pulled out of a possible takeover.
The post office in Main Road, Great Holland, has been closed since February 2013 after the postmaster fell ill and was no longer able to run the branch.
Post Office bosses have been negotiating with interested parties in a bid to see the branch re-opened.
But village customers have been dealt a blow with news that an applicant has pulled out of a bid to operate the branch.
Negotiations have now started with another interested party.
While the Great Holland branch will remain closed for now, Post Office chiefs have confirmed the branch at the Triangle Shopping Centre in Frinton is set for a revamp.
It is part of a Post Office bid to modernise 6,000 centres across the country.
The Triangle branch will be closed from July 18 while it is refurbished, opening again on Monday July 28 at 1pm.
