MINI Murrays served up a tennis treat for parents when a Walton school staged its own Wimbledon-inspired showcase.

Young tennis stars in the making at Hamford Primary Academy took part in a special tournament with parents invited to cheer from the sidelines.

The players, all aged four or five years old, spent a term working on their ball skills before dazzling the crowd with their abilities.

They even served up strawberries and cream to the parents to give them a true taste of Wimbledon.

Carole Morgan, early years leader at Hamford said: “It was a wonderful day. We had brilliant weather, which was completely unlike the real Wimbledon but perfect for us.

“We always like to be topical with the curriculum and with Wimbledon going on it was a golden opportunity to really capture the children’s’ imaginations.”
