A UNIVERSITY student from Frinton has spent a fortnight learning the ropes at Westminster.
Kate Whybrew spent two weeks at the Houses of Parliament as an intern for Clacton MP Douglas Carswell.
She also worked at his Clacton office, helping with constituency business.
“I have always had a real interest in politics because it is so current and I really was keen to see what working in Parliament would be like,” said Kate.
“Alongside a tour of Parliament, listening to debates and typing up press releases, I was fortunate to attend Prime Ministers’ Question Time which was very interesting, particularly with the phone hacking scandal which is currently being spoken about in the news.”
Mr Carswell added: "It was wonderful having Kate help out in our busy office - she did a brilliant job.”
