A CLACTON store has joined forces with the Essex Air Ambulance to raise cash for the lifesaving charity.
Staff at the Wilko store in Clacton have pledged to support the air ambulance after helping to raise more than £18,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices last year.
They have already donated cake-making gear for an upcoming air ambulance trust fundraiser.
The staff have also organised their own event to kick off the fundraising effort.
An afternoon tea event will be held at the store from Friday to Sunday. Customers will be able to enjoy homemade cakes in exchange for vital donations.
Clacton branch manager Alan Kidd said: “As a community focused company, we’re always keen to help worthy causes in our local area, and we chose the Air Ambulance to be our new charity of the year as a team.
“We can’t wait to get going with our fundraising and we hope our customers will support us on our way to another amazing total over the next year.”
Several Wilko branches across Essex have joined the fundraising cause for the air ambulance.
