BEACH hut sales are booming in Frinton with prospective buyers wrangling over those in prime locations and threatening to force prices to new records.
Last year some huts in the popular Walings area sold for a whopping £30,000.
That’s just £10,000 less than you can pay for a two-bedroom chalet in Jaywick.
Nicole Stopp, of Boydens estate agents in Connaught Avenue, said: “From the start of this year we’ve seen a lot of interest in beach huts but the activity has really increased this past month.
“The Walings at Frinton is a particularly popular location and I have sold three beach huts there in the past few weeks.
“Such is the demand that I can certainly see the top price achieved so far this year - £28,000 – being topped."
