DETECTIVES are appealing for information after burglars smashed their way into a home in Clacton.

The crooks struck at a home in First Avenue overnight on June 13.

They gained entry via a rear ground floor fan light before stealing a MacBook computer, charger and wallet.

Det Con Bernadette Lord said: "A brass door key was left at the scene and we are keen to talk to anyone who has lost their key recently as this could have been acquired by the burglars and that property may have been the next target."

The wallet and cards were recovered along Clacton seafront the following morning by a dog walker.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Clacton on 101.
