CLACTON has scooped a hat-trick of gongs in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

“I was gobsmacked,” said Pat, 81, who fundraised tirelessly for Clacton carnival until calling it a day last year, but still chairs Clacton Crime Prevention Panel.

Clacton Bowls Club’s David Mitchell-Gears receives the MBE for services to the sport.

And Lesley Hastie receives an OBE for services to education and Friends of the Rebel Trust.
