HUNDREDS of runners braved the blazing heat to dash through the streets for the annual Frinton and Walton Fun Run.

A swarm of more than 400 people took part in the event, ranging from youngsters from local sports clubs and people in fancy dress to serious runners.

They all laced up their running shoes on Sunday and tested their bodies to the limit, choosing between two-mile and 10k routes around the area.

The fun run, now in its 28th year, is organised by Tendring Technology College.

Organiser Steve Hayes said: “The atmosphere was something special. It is the best I have ever experienced. Everybody had a great time."

The event raised £1,700 with the profit going back into the school.
