CLACTON lifeboat was launched after a motorboat stuttered to a halt two miles from the shore.

Coastguards received a distress call from the 20-foot craft Black Pig, which had one person on board.

The Clacton lifeboat located the motorboat and towed it to Brightlingsea, where they were met by the Clacton Coastguard team.

It happened at about 3.20pm on Tuesday.
