CROOKS smashed their way into two Clacton shops and plundered the premises for cash.
Ree’s Little Hair House and Nail: Envi, both in Jackson Road, were targeted in the raids early on Sunday June 1.
Burglars kicked in the shatterproof glass in the doors of both salons, cracking it enough to pull it aside and climb underneath.
They rifled through the shops, ignoring the high-value stock and searching for the cash.
The criminals even grabbed a charity tin which was hidden below the counter at Ree’s hair salon.
Anne-Marie Ingram, who opened Ree’s just five weeks ago said: “I don’t leave money here overnight so there was none for them to take, but it was a real mess behind the counter where they had pulled everything out.
“I’ve worked so hard to be able to start this business so it is really frustrating. For people to come in and try to destroy all of that makes me feel sick.”
About £200 was taken from Nail: Envi but crooks again ignored the supplies on site.
Both salon owners vowed not to let the incident affect business and opened on the Monday while the damage was dealt with.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
