A PARAMEDIC recruitment drive is halfway there.
The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust is trying to fill 400 student posts.
200 people have been enrolled.
The trust has struggled with response times and has a large number of vacancies.
Chief Executive Dr Anthony Marsh is hoping the recruitment drive will help improve the service in the coming years.
He said: “I’m really pleased to be reporting this tremendous response to our recruitment drive.
“It is part of the improvement process we are taking forward to support our current staff who are under a lot of pressure.”
