A DISTRAUGHT Clacton mumhas been refused a British passport even though her dad was a Brit and she has lived here for 25 years.

Christine North, 32, of Salmon Close in Clacton, was born in Germany.

Her mum is German but her biological dad is a British soldier who was stationed near Dortmund at the time.

Christine moved onto a British army base in Germany with her mum and step-dad – another English soldier - when she was just six months old.

She grew up with English schooling on the base, before moving to England with the family when she was aged seven.

Since then Christine has married an English husband and has two children.

She has a National Insurance number, has sat jury duty twice and has voted at every election since she was 18.

Last year she tried to apply for a passport for the first time after booking a family holiday to France.

But after six hours on the phone to various Government departments her citizenship was called into question and she feared she may be deported.
