VISITORS can take a walk on the wild side at a Great Holland nature reserve open day.
Great Holland Pits, off Little Clacton Road, will be opened up to visitors for a special day of activities.
Run by Essex Wildlife Trust, the 40-acre site once housed a gravel pit, but is now made up of heathy grassland, woodland and water pools.
The annual open day will feature guided nature walks around the area at 11.15am and 2.15pm, as well as pond dipping at 11am and 2pm.
The event will take place on Sunday June 1 from 10am-4pm.
For more information contact Bob Seago, wildlife trust warden at Great Holland Pits, on 01255 436494.
