CYCLING fans turned out in force as racing superstar Marianne Vos stormed into Clacton.
More than 1,000 people flocked to Clacton’s West Greensward to watch the finish of the Women’s Tour cycling race.
Stage three of the five-day event started in Felixstowe on Friday at about 11am and made its way through Manningtree, Lawford, Wix, Great Oakley, Stones Green, Beaumont, Thorpe, Kirby, Great Holland, Great Clacton before finishing at the seafront in Clacton at 2.11pm.
Despite blustery and rainy conditions the weather improved as Vos crossed the line to claim the yellow jersey as race leader.
The fifth stage will start in Harwich on Sunday at 9.45am shortly before the annual Tour de Tendring takes place.
