Walton coastguard base
A COASTGUARD rescue team was launched following reports of a dog in the water near Walton Pier.
A member of public called 999 after spotting the dog in the sea at about 8pm on Thursday.
Walton’s RNLI rescue team was sent to the area but could find no trace of the dog.
The search was eventually terminated. Coastguards are not sure what happened to the animal.
