BRIT winning singer song writer Ed Sheeran has donated bags of his clothes to a charity which looks after north Essex children.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices received eight bags of clothing which the musician, who is one of their ambassadors, has worn on photo shoots, music videos and during live performances.
He tweeted about his donation leading fans to search charity shops for the items.
However charity staff decided to auction off the items, raising more than £6,320 for the charity.
Melanie Chew, director of fundraising and retail, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the success of the auction of Ed’s clothes and would like to thank Ed once again for his very kind donation.
“Not only have Ed’s clothes raised valuable funds, but his involvement with EACH has raised our public profile and has gained us a whole new audience thanks to his millions of fans. “
