A BRAVE student from Clacton had her long locks chopped off to raise charity cash in memory of her grandmother.
Teri Savage, 15, raised almost £1,140 for Cancer Research UK, by having her hair shaved at Clacton County High School.
The photography, drama and history student raised the cash in memory of nan Ellie, who died in 2008.
“I became interested in raising money for Cancer Research after the death of my nan,” said Teri.
"She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was admitted to Salisbury Hospice where she unfortunately succumbed to the awful disease.
“My nan was a big supporter of many charities and I wanted to do something that would assist other people that were affected by this terrible disease, but also pay a fitting tribute to my much loved and missed nan.
“All I wanted to do was to make my nan proud.”
